In 1800s England, Mrs. Bennet wants her 5 daughters to marry rich men. When Mr. Bingley and his proud friend Mr. Darcy arrive, romance and misunderstandings begin. Elizabeth Bennet, clever and independent, dislikes Darcy because of his pride. Darcy dislikes Elizabeth’s family because of their lack of manners. The famous scene on the cover is Darcy’s first awkward proposal that Elizabeth refuses. Later they both overcome their pride and prejudice to find true love.
